Gerald’s Reserve Whiskey Barrel Aged: A Scholarly Study in Smoke, Vanilla, and Oak
Gerald’s Reserve Whiskey Barrel Aged is not a subtle coffee, and Gerald would be disappointed if it were.
This first release in the Gerald’s Reserve series starts with single-origin Guatemala coffee, ages it for 30 days in a Bourbon barrel, and then has it roasted to order.
The result is bold, smoky, and suspiciously well organized. Gerald insists that was the point.

The Reserve at a Glance
Gerald’s Reserve Whiskey Barrel Aged is built around a focused, memorable profile:
- Origin: Guatemala
- Style: Single-origin coffee
- Barrel aging: 30 days in a Bourbon barrel
- Roasting: Roasted to order
- Flavor profile: Bold smoky depth with subtle vanilla and oak undertones
- Finish: Measured and lingering
- Brewing options: French press, pour-over, and espresso
That is the official summary. Gerald would like you to know that he prepared it himself, although Morton has quietly checked it three times.
“I have tasted thousands of bad beans so you don’t have to. You’re welcome.”

A Guatemala Coffee with a Barrel-Sized Point of View
This coffee starts with Guatemala and picks up its signature character from 30 days in a Bourbon barrel. Once roasted to order, it lands in the cup with bold smoky depth, subtle vanilla and oak undertones, and a measured, lingering finish.
In other words: it has presence, but it is not here to show off like a dessert menu in a blazer.

The Brew Blueprint
Brew it however your mood demands:
- French press for a fuller, slower cup
- Pour-over for a clearer look at the smoke, vanilla, and oak
- Espresso for a shorter, sharper argument

You do not need a performance review vocabulary to enjoy this one. Just pay attention to what shows up first, what hangs around, and whether Gerald would approve.
He probably won’t say it out loud. That would be too generous.
